Marlene’s symptoms got so bad that she thought she was getting Alzheimer’s in her 50’s. Knowing she didn’t just want a pill to make her feel better she decided to try another route. Find out how she is feeling now.
I’m Marlene Kangus, I’m 56 years old, a mother of four and a grandmother of six.
When did you start not feeling well?
About four-and-a-half, well, five-and-a-half years ago, I started to have very significant digestive issues. Nothing would stay in my system. I’d eat, it would go through me, it didn’t matter what I ate.
It changed my life.
I knew that there was something going on, but I just didn’t know where to turn. Traditional medicine, I think, is a wonderful thing, but I knew that a pill or a shot wasn’t gonna change what was going on.
I did some testing and everything that I’ve tested was always coming back normal. I knew there was somewhere else to go and I actually had heard about Corey Deacon through some friends, but never really thought twice about it.
A year ago almost now, I came back home from the States where I live in the wintertime, thinking I had Alzheimer’s. Now, I am that old, so it kinda scared me. So I researched again, and read a testimonial of someone I know who is a client of Corey, so gave her a call.
She had some of the similar things I’ve had going on so I thought, I’m gonna try it.
Who did you work with before coming to Neurvana Naturopathic Medicine?
I actually had seen a live blood analysis gentleman and it was helping, but I just didn’t feel that I was getting the answers I was looking for. It may have made me feel better once in a while, but it wasn’t giving me the long-term results that I was hoping for.
And, just traditional doctor once a year for a check-up, and everything was always good. And yet inside, I knew everything wasn’t good.
What parts of your life were most affected?
Travel was hard for me, and also, the fact that I didn’t know when I ate what was gonna happen.
When you live a life that you can eat anything you want, supposedly, and you aren’t gaining weight, you actually are losing weight, that’s scary.
The other thing is not wanting to go out, and be with people ’cause you didn’t know what was gonna happen. That’s what it affected me the most.
It wasn’t until I worked through some issues with Corey that I realized it affected my life.
My emotions affect my health as well. Stress in my life that has caused problems, and probably is what started a chain of events all these years, but the final straw was my digestive issue. That was my body finally saying, wake up, there’s a problem.
What turning point led you to work with us?
Well, thinking I had Alzheimer’s.
I could not put a sentence together. I’m working through that now along with my memory loss.
It’s not over yet. I still got steps to go but I’m so much farther than I was when I came back last spring.
Thing I had Alzheimer’s scared me, so I knew there was something else going on.
What about our team made you want to work with us?
I researched a little bit about Corey.
I talked to a girlfriend of mine as well.
The fact that he was a scientist, and when I met with him the first time, how we talked and what he said about testing made me realize I wanted to go the full scope with Corey.
It wasn’t just about, giving me a pill to make me feel good. We’re gonna get to the bottom of it, and it’s not going to happen overnight, which makes sense to me now. I knew from my experiences with my health that things don’t happen overnight, so you can’t repair them overnight. It’s a step-by-step process and it’s a lifestyle change.
When you heard how much you would need to invest in your health what made you decide it was worth it?
I’ve never shied away from the cost of being healthy. I’ve been, for the last 20 years of my life, putting money into my health through nutritional products and doing different things in my life.
Yes, it’s scary when I looked at the cost, but when I figured out that I only have one body, I only have one life, and that I wanna finish off my life healthy and happy it was worth it.
To me, the investment in your life, in your health, is really a no-brainier. It might cost more up front, but in the long run, it’ll be cheaper.
What major wins have you received from working with us?
With my digestive system, I now know what my body can handle, and what it cannot handle. I’ve actually healed my body and my digestive system.
The neurofeedback sessions have helped me I started to be able to handle life again. I didn’t hide anymore, and that was huge for me because it made a difference in my family life.
Before I started the sessions, I would try and avoid them. I would, basically, play numb to handle family get-togethers. Now, I’m good with it. Now I can just embrace it and I’m really enjoying my life again.
Are you a happier person than when you first started working with us?
Oh, absolutely. It’s now real.
I always used to be able to fake how I felt, like I feel great, but on the inside, It didn’t. Now, it’s true.
Where would you be if you had not have worked with us?
I don’t know. I was on a downward path, and I don’t know where I’d be today.
That scares me.
I know I wouldn’t be embracing my family like I am again.
I don’t know where I’d be, honestly. I don’t wanna think about it and I’m glad I’m not there.
What advice do you have for someone experiencing something similar to what you were?
Give Neurvana a call and sit down with Corey Deacon. Give him a chance to at least get to know you, and to see what’s going on in your body.
I know it’s pretty scary when you think about what the costs might be, but you just can’t put a price tag on your health, your happiness and your honesty of happiness. And when I think back a year ago, I’d pay double for what I’ve got right now.
