“It [naturopathic medicine] is amazing. It is getting to the root cause. The thing I love about naturopathic medicine is it’s almost like you’re being a health detective.” – Dr. Keen

Getting Personal with Dr. Keen
Dr. Keen was born and raised in Calgary (her parents still live in the same house she was born in!), but she eventually left town to go to school and also lived in Japan for a while. After years of being away from her hometown, she decided to return for good in 2010.
In her free time, Dr. Keen can be seen outdoors, enjoying nature and its beauty, spending time in the mountains and staying active. Hiking is one of her favourite hobbies as is yoga, two activities she does regularly for fun and relaxation.
Dr. Keen lives with her boyfriend Ray, his two kids and the fifth member of their family, Touka. The duo fell in love with their 90-pound dog Touka after spotting her at the Cochrane Humane Society this past January. Touka was adopted on the spot—and the rest is history.
Dr. Keen also loves to travel. Her most memorable trip was when she and her boyfriend visited Sayulita, Mexico to attend a yoga/meditation retreat. Her time there was magical. They slept in the jungle with the ocean as their backdrop, woke up every day to a yoga/meditation practice and ate delicious food in the beautiful sun. She loved sharing that experience with her boyfriend and greatly enjoyed the rest and relaxation.
Dr. Keen’s favourite food? Broccoli! From the colour to the taste, raw or cooked, she is quite fond of this superpower veggie.
